Mark Schutters

Managing Director

Mark joined Dickensons in July 1993 and then progressed to became a partner is 1998. With over 30 years experience in public practice, Mark has a broad knowledge in advising small to medium size businesses and individuals, in the areas of taxation and business services.

Mark is a Fellow of Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand, a CPA and holds a Bachelor of Commerce (Griffith University) and a graduate diploma of Advanced Accounting (QUT).

His passion is seeing small businesses succeed and being a part of their journey. He is able to assist in many diverse aspects of business to enable the growth of your business, regardless of the industry you are in.

James McKenzie

Director

James has been a director at Dickensons since 2017 after starting as an undergraduate accountant in 2002. Throughout the years James has developed a diverse skill set that enables James to handle complex and uncommon situations whilst ensuring the client can understand the issues and the solutions.

James’s key areas of focus:

• Audit – As a company auditor he has developed an audit approach which enables the audit process to assist the organisation improve and become more efficient. James’s approach is centred around achieving the best audit outcomes whilst assisting the internal parties and external stakeholders understanding of the organisation and its challenges.
• Business Advice and Strategy –Having a business is not the end goal. A business can allow the owners to achieve their financial, personal and professional goals. Through James’s diverse knowledge he is uniquely placed to assist business owners and executives to achieve the internal targets of a business but also to assist the ultimate owners of the business to unlock the potential wealth a business may generate. How this occurs depends on each client and their circumstances however the common element is taking the time to understand the business and people.
  
  

Jouhaina Ellis

Director

Jouhaina began her career at Dickensons in 2007 as an administration assistant and became a Director in 2017. Jouhaina has attained a wealth of knowledge and experience across a range of business sectors. Jouhaina is a results based practitioner and has a particular interest in Tax Consulting and Compliance for all entities including Self-Managed Superannuation Funds. She is highly regarded for her technical strengths, personable approach & ability to add value to her clients while assisting them in meeting their compliance needs.

Scott Laker

Director

Scott joined the team as a Graduate accountant in 2008 and became a director in 2017.

Throughout this time he has gained extensive experience in Taxation, Business Services and Self-Managed Superannuation, and believes having a close relationship with his clients is the key to success.
